Dual-Layer Light Control
Day & Night Blinds
Two layers of fabric in one blind. Day & night blinds let you switch between sheer and opaque — giving you complete control over light and privacy without lifting a finger.
The Best of Both Worlds
Day & night blinds — also known as vision blinds, zebra blinds or transitional blinds — feature two parallel layers of alternating sheer and opaque fabric strips. By adjusting the alignment of these strips, you can seamlessly transition between filtered daylight and full privacy in seconds. No other blind type offers this level of versatile, instant control.
They've become one of our fastest-growing products across East Sussex, and it's easy to understand why. A single day & night blind replaces the need for both a blind and a curtain — giving you daytime light filtering and evening privacy from one sleek, modern window covering. The effect is striking: clean horizontal bands that create a contemporary look while being endlessly practical.
Available in a wide range of colours, textures and patterns — from subtle neutrals and metallic sheens to bold statement designs — day & night blinds suit any interior style. We bring our full sample range to your home so you can see exactly how each option looks in your own light.

How Day & Night Blinds Work
The mechanism behind day & night blinds is elegantly simple. Two layers of fabric — each consisting of alternating sheer and opaque horizontal bands — are looped around a headrail at the top and a weighted bar at the bottom. When you raise or lower the blind using the chain control, the two layers shift relative to each other.
When the opaque bands of the front layer align with the opaque bands of the rear layer, you get full privacy — the view from outside is completely blocked. When the opaque bands on the front align with the sheer bands on the rear, light filters through the transparent sections while the opaque strips still provide a degree of screening. The effect is beautiful: soft, diffused daylight with a modern striped pattern.
You can set the blind at any position between these two extremes, giving you precise, continuous control over light levels and privacy. It's this flexibility that makes day & night blinds such a popular alternative to traditional roller blinds and curtain combinations.
Choosing Day & Night Blind Fabrics
Our day & night blind collection covers a wide spectrum of styles to match any interior. Neutral tones — whites, creams, soft greys and taupes — are our best-sellers, creating a clean, versatile look that works in any room. These subtle shades let the interesting texture and stripe pattern of the blind speak for itself.
For a more contemporary feel, metallic and shimmer fabrics catch the light beautifully, adding a touch of glamour to living rooms and bedrooms. Linen-effect and textured options bring warmth and depth, while bold colours and patterns make a striking statement in feature windows.
The sheer sections of the fabric vary in transparency between different ranges. Some are almost fully transparent, allowing a clear view through the window. Others have a more diffused, privacy-screen effect. During your consultation, we'll show you how different sheers perform in your specific light conditions.
Day & Night Blinds Room by Room
Living Rooms
The most popular room for day & night blinds. Filter sunlight during the day and switch to full privacy in the evening — no curtains needed.
Bedrooms
Excellent for bedrooms. In the closed position, the overlapping opaque strips block most light. Pair with a blackout roller behind for total darkness.
Kitchens
Modern kitchens suit the clean, contemporary look of day & night blinds. Compact cassette designs keep them clear of worktops.
Dining Rooms
Control glare during meals while maintaining a stylish, streamlined window treatment. Metallic fabrics add elegance.
Home Offices
Reduce screen glare precisely by adjusting the sheer/opaque alignment. Maintain natural light without harsh direct sunlight.
Conservatories
